This policy applies beginning September 28, 2026.
1. Scope
This policy describes prohibited uses of Talking Jellyfish and forms part of our Terms of Use. If they conflict, the Terms govern. A prohibited use is a breach of those Terms.
2. Local Safeguards
We do not monitor conversations. The app's local safety protocol is described on the Safety page. Data handling is described in the Privacy Policy.
3. Prohibited uses
You may not use Talking Jellyfish to:
- Break the law. Violate any applicable law or regulation, including those governing intellectual property, privacy, and data protection.
- Harm children. Generate, request, or depict child sexual abuse material, including in roleplay; sexualise a real or fictional minor; or use the app to groom, exploit, or endanger a child. This applies equally to an actual child, a person impersonating a child, and generated content depicting a child.
- Encourage or instruct self-harm. Facilitate, promote, glamorise, or seek instructions for suicide or self-harm, whether for yourself or anyone else. Talking Jellyfish is not designed for crisis intervention; if you are experiencing a mental health emergency, please contact emergency services or a crisis line — see our Safety page.
- Harm other people. Incite or plan violence, harassment, abuse, or hatred against any person or group.
- Use voice or likeness material without authority. Provide or use an identifiable person’s voice, likeness, photos, recordings, or other material without all necessary rights, permissions, consents, and other lawful authority.
- Create unauthorized digital replicas or deceive through impersonation. Create or distribute an unauthorized replica of a real person’s voice or likeness, impersonate a real person deceptively, or present generated output as that person’s genuine words or actions.
- Falsely claim affiliation or endorsement. Misrepresent your affiliation with a person or organization, or falsely imply that a person, organization, or the developer authorizes, sponsors, or endorses you or your content.
- Present AI output as human. Represent output as human-generated where the law requires it to be disclosed as artificial.
- Substitute it for professional advice. Rely on output as legal, financial, medical, psychological, or other professional advice, or use it for regulated or high-risk decisions.
- Make consequential decisions about others. Use outputs about a person as a basis for decisions with legal or similarly significant effects, including employment, education, housing, credit, insurance, healthcare, or essential services.
- Input other people's sensitive data. Enter regulated personal information about others, such as protected health information.

To report a problem or ask about this policy, contact support@talkingjellyfish.com. Include only information needed to explain the issue and avoid sharing other people's personal information.
